Geoff Huegill

I found Geoff Huegill's performance at the Commonwealth Games inspirational.  And that grin!  Not happy with this caricature - can do better.

David Hicks

David Hicks - an unfortunate 'adventurer' who got caught in the wrong place at the wrong time for the right reasons.

Joe Hockey

Just love Joe!  I wouldn't know if he has a bike - but I'd like to see him ride one.

Julia Gillard

Sorry about the nose, Julia.  Caricaturing female faces is an inhuman activity!

Tony Abbott

More of a facial study than a caricature?

Looking at noses

Back to Basics!!!  I'm going back to basic studies of parts of the human face to have a better idea of caricature.  Have you ever noticed how important noses are for a caricature?  Detail  detail detail....
I hadn't picked up my Derwent Sketching pencil for a long time - and I really enjoyed it. Ahhhhhh,...the feel of gritty graphite on processed wood pulp! (almost better than sex).

Puppet head - Russ Hinze.

This is a latex puppet head caricature of a Queensland politician, Russ Hinze, I did a few years ago.
Russ, God bless him, passed away a few years ago but he was larger than life in character as well as physical presence.  I was inspired by Rubbery Figures.  If I have time I'd like to have a go at the latest crop of pollies... even if they aren't as interesting as Russ and his cohorts.

A new start

Blog created after looking for a suitable way of updating my research images and findings. This Blogspot site won't be perfect but I'll need to look for something with more 'controls' and analysis of usage. I love the look of VIMEO but not sure about it's blogging capabilities. I will eventually put my animations up to VIMEO anyway - it seems the professional way of doing things if you care about how your images look to the public.
